Today, I got a new phone. Only after berating the Sprint employee and Apple support desk because I could not call, text, or access the Internet did I find out that I didn't need to buy a new phone. It was just on airplane mode. FML

I'm not surprised. You seem a bit flighty.

Did you try turning it off and on again?

I used to work in tech support for a major carrier. I've never hit YDI so fast before.

So the old phone was on airplane mode, and OP got a new one before realising? I'd have thought you'd be familiar enough with a phone you've had a while, to realise these things...

The best customer of electronics is someone who doesn't know how to operate it. They'll pay for support 10 times over and end up buying new versions of the product.

YDI. People like you are why NotAlwaysRight exists.

the employees probably knew it was in airplane mode. But, you came in yelling so they figured they'd get even and make you buy a new phone.

As a person who may or may not work in tech support for one of said companies, I will say that one of the techs should have had a series of questions to ask you that include asking if it's in airplane mode. So, if they had the opportunity to ask and didn't, they didn't do their job. If you started yelling before letting them ask, then you're an ass.

And this is the reason why I refuse to work in customer service or even retail. People attack them like its their fault.

Sounds like something someone would post on NotAlwaysRight. Nothing but a YDI from me.
