Today, I got a steering wheel cover to stop my obsessive steering wheel picking. After putting it on, I realized it was crooked, causing me to have OCD fits every time I drive. I can still pick at the steering wheel around the cover. FML

Well, can't you return the one you have and exchange it for a different, bigger one?

Super glue it, haha! But seriously, maybe you should talk to someone about how to manage this; I understand it's a serious issue and you want to feel as safe and comfortable as possible while operating a motor vehicle.

I do the same thing...I am not sure why it's so fun... You could cover it yourself with a specific fabric that covers it all without a pattern so it doesn't bother you...a friend of mine had the same problem...and that worked for him...

I figure it's peeling and picking the rubber or leather off of the steering wheel.

Apparently a few of you don't seem to understand you can't just "quit" being OCD. If it were that freakin' simple then there would be tons of psychiatrists out of jobs right now. It's a mental disorder, you can't just quit. YOU, however, can quit being assholes and educate yourselves before commenting next time. OP, I do the same thing sometimes. Try going to talk to someone about it, but in the mean time get a different steering wheel cover or do like someone else said and do duct tape.

Read my thoughts #33! People do not understand how OCD works, it's not all about cleaning and having things in order. Maybe his OCD is having to pick a certain amount each day, or while driving he has to constantly pick... No one will fully understand the OCD brain.

Thanks you guys. I hate when people tell me or anyone else with OCD to just stop having it. And then they get all mad and defensive when I say I cant. They tend to be the immature, uninformed jerks that also tell me I dont really have schizophrenia and I am just "faking it" or "faking" my OCD.

Honestly, taking the bus sucks. I had to take the bus for years and it's no fun. You have to work around the bus schedule and can't just go home whenever you want after you're done with work or school. It can also cost quite a bit depending on how many buses you have to take throughout the day. Plus, you get stuck with some very awkward people, and of course it's never fun when you're on the bus when someone is puking. The bus is very germy, and increases your chances of getting sick. In the end, this really wouldn't take care of the steering wheel picking problem. I agree with the people who suggested that OP exchange the steering wheel cover for a bigger one, or use duct tape. Duct tape may be the best because getting it off would be harder and would force OP to stop picking the steering wheel.

Steer your obsession in another direction

How did this make FML? All he did was waste money

You should make a steering wheel cover out of pretzel dough. Bake, then pick away.
