Chalk it up to lesson learned. I guess if the customer know you well, they could have waited, but your coworker did what was needed from a business perspective. You can probably ask her nicely if she would split the commission, or at least take you out for a really really nice dinner.

That sucks, doubt your friend thought about you losing out on the commission. I agree with 42 below, if you can get away with it I would def. put laxatives in the co-workers food/drink a couple times if management doesn't do anything.

OP again, I also did forget to mention that she saw me with my client and that she knew the sale was closed. She could have put the sale under my name in the system to close it for me which would get me the commission, but she closed it in her name. This has not been the first time she has done this to coworkers. A meeting has been scheduled for her to be spoken with because this was a loss of $350 commission for me. Unfortunately the food I ate was not Taco Bell but a protein shake and Mcdonalds. Clearly these two combinations do not mix well together while digesting. If you want to clean yourself out please use this method ... It works all too well.

So technically that McDonald's meal, and shake was worth $350 in the lost sale. Or the dump that followed was worth $350. All these hidden costs of fast food is how they get you!

that is crazy good commission! even when I was a car salesman, commission was 30%, phone rep was 10%, and jewelry was 1% unless the store bonuses, then its more. I assume you're paid 100% by commission for that level?

Yes I am, the pay out without commission is extremely low. It's like a certain target you need to hit to make that pay out, but is really worth it when you do. If you hit a really high sale they will pay you out for most of that sale and cut back on your regular wage. So you always have to try to hit a certain target to stay in the game and make money sadly lol. It's not any better than anyone else's job XD

Well the fml said that the customer was a good friend. What probably happened was that the other co worker saw her waiting and just started ringing her up and the customer didn't say anything about her friend.

And if you do eat TB or whatever gave you the runs, take dome ammodium or something.
