OP here, this is very embarrassing. This client was actually a very good friend of mine and I told her I would be back in a few moments. She understood completely I just informed her to place it at the cash. My coworker however did come along to ring her through placing the items under her name in the system. Which made me lose out on a $500 dollar sale. So far management has done nothing, but I think she does feel bad because she knew she was in the wrong. My mistake though for eating a big unhealthy breakfast that did not agree with my bowels. For future I take this into consideration.

NO really?

Chalk it up to lesson learned. I guess if the customer know you well, they could have waited, but your coworker did what was needed from a business perspective. You can probably ask her nicely if she would split the commission, or at least take you out for a really really nice dinner.
how much commission would you get from a $500 sale?
Awful people :( Could you ask your friend to return the merch. then buy it back with you as the associate?
OP again, I also did forget to mention that she saw me with my client and that she knew the sale was closed. She could have put the sale under my name in the system to close it for me which would get me the commission, but she closed it in her name. This has not been the first time she has done this to coworkers. A meeting has been scheduled for her to be spoken with because this was a loss of $350 commission for me. Unfortunately the food I ate was not Taco Bell but a protein shake and Mcdonalds. Clearly these two combinations do not mix well together while digesting. If you want to clean yourself out please use this method ... It works all too well.
pardon the pun, but shit happens.
$350 commision on a $500 sale? wow thats crazy good.
this is why I don't have breakfast lmao and if I do its a granola bar and water until I feel okay enough to eat something else until lunch xD
that is crazy good commission! even when I was a car salesman, commission was 30%, phone rep was 10%, and jewelry was 1% unless the store bonuses, then its more. I assume you're paid 100% by commission for that level?
Yes I am, the pay out without commission is extremely low. It's like a certain target you need to hit to make that pay out, but is really worth it when you do. If you hit a really high sale they will pay you out for most of that sale and cut back on your regular wage. So you always have to try to hit a certain target to stay in the game and make money sadly lol. It's not any better than anyone else's job XD
I agree, but it's just how the world works
diabolical sonofabitch!!
That's really unfortunate, I'd honestly speak to and approach my fellow work colleague and asked them why they did it, based on that response I would take action, the customer may have been really impatient, pedantic and immature and requested they be served immediately. However, if it was stolen outright just ask for their next commission sale or speak with your boss.
Well the fml said that the customer was a good friend. What probably happened was that the other co worker saw her waiting and just started ringing her up and the customer didn't say anything about her friend.
don't eat taco bell before a sale
I would talk to her and try to come to an agreement where the next time she has a large sale, it will be logged under your name, or even a half of it. If she truly feels bad about it, she would make it up to you one way or another.
