I've done this. It wasn't something as important as a job, but a whole classroom of mine was talking about how we were just going to leave when the class ended (instead of staying for a BS "detention" for the whole class, based on what only a couple people had done.) The bell rang, the teacher asked someone to close the door. I walked out, and no one else did.
Sounds like you were going to quit anyway.

Yep, maybe they were all nodding about hating their job and agreed because YOU ARE THE REASON they don't like coming to work.... You quit, they are happy.
