Today, I got bitten at work. Not by a patient's mouth, but by the false teeth they were holding in their hand as they clamped down on my arm. FML

My mom is a nurse and trust me when I say they have to deal with some pretty crazy stuff sometimes...and it says you're a student so this is just the beginning ;) Luckily it's a very rewarding career. I hope you don't run into any more crazies anytime soon OP.

Fun fact: until the '80s, many dentures were radioactive from uranium used to give realistic luminescence. So when you were bitten, you might've got the double whammy of superhero origins: radiation AND a unique bite. Pretty soon you'll be getting your powers. If your assailant is anything to go by, you might gain the ability to see poorly, need false teeth, and require care from a student nurse!

That's certainly something you didn't expect to happen when you woke up this morning! I hope you and the patient had a good laugh about it.

Well that's the last time you should let them watch jaws

I'm a student nurse too and I got 'gummed' rather than bitten on my arm this week. I thought that was bad cos of the spit everywhere (she was holding a load of saliva in her mouth) but I think you win. Still, everyone says it'll be worth it when we're qualified - not sure I completely believe them. Good luck, OP!!
