You need to make it somewhat fun.
So...? That's the reason a lot of babysitter lose their jobs. Because the kids think they're boring. A piece of advice. Bring a book, DVD, or boardgame next time. Whenever I have a babysitting job, I take this box I have filled with books, toys, games, crayons, markers, paper, etc. Little kids love that stuff.
Well, it's not hard AT ALL to entertain children. Seriously. I've been babysitting the same girl for almost a year~ and I've NEVER been called boring. Next time-- try to make a good first impression on the parents AND the kid(s). That's all I did and the whole family loves me. I agree with #27. The girl I 'sit LOVES coloring. That's how we bonded. I pretended to love what she loved and BAM. (Kinda the same with guys.) Seriously-- just try. If I can do it, ANYONE can do it. :)
Be more fun, your babysitting a little girl.

It happens to the best of us. Honestly, you are paid to watch her, not to be her entertainer. While I don't think you should just sit there the whole time I do think that the parents expecting you to have all these tricks up your sleeve is pretty stupid.
