It happens to the best of us. Honestly, you are paid to watch her, not to be her entertainer. While I don't think you should just sit there the whole time I do think that the parents expecting you to have all these tricks up your sleeve is pretty stupid.

How can you not deserve it? Your performance did not satisfy the employers request and as such you were not used further. You sound like you believe you are entitled to this job.

The question is what does she like doing? It's normally best to do what they like to do then you'l be less boring

Did you bring activities for the two of you to do? I had a babysitter who just sat on the couch and did homework, didn't even watch us.
