Today, I got into trouble at work because a customer complained about my face tattoo, I don't have a face tattoo but I do have one behind my ear. Nonetheless, I still got written up and had to cover it with a band-aid, which ripped out hair when I took it off. FML

I don't understand why people are so offended by ink. Unless it's derogatory or gang related.

With your name instating heather can't you cover that tattoo with your hair?

This makes me so mad on your behalf! If the tattoo wasn't an issue for you getting the job in the first place there's no reason why they have to side with the customer and suddenly tell you to cover it up. Also, how the hell was this an issue for the customer that they had to complain about it? You definitely don't deserve this one!

I'm so sorry Op. I've always thought it was shitty of other people to judge when people have tattoos.

That is so dumb. I would rather look at a tattoo than a bandage any day. I see a bandage and I think there is a disgusting wound under there. I see a tattoo and I just appreciate some art work.

I can see how 'behind the ear' could fall into the category of facial tattoo, assuming you include ears as part of your face, so I suppose you may have been too close to let it pass. But as for why the complaint happened, I'm baffled, was the content that offensive to the customer?

They hired you with your "face tattoo" and suddenly you did something wrong by having it after the fact? And PS, that customer is a prick. If they seriously have nothing better to concern themselves with.....if you work in a kids place though, it's a given to expect a complaint about any tatt eventually.

I think too many people are way too judgemental. people should learn to accept that that is the way we like to look and we won't change this for nobody. It is ous ing bodies and we can do what we like. If anyone here is one of them judgemental ********, just **** off :) please and thankyou.

They can't write you up for having a tattoo btw

Don't get visible tattoos if you work customer service and don't want to be hassled. Tats are more mainstream but placement should be taken into consideration.

If you're going to get a tattoo in any visible place, but especially anywhere on your head then you have to be prepared for an employers disapproval. Ydi. That being said, I have several tattoos, but I know that if I'm going to work in certain fields (the medical field, for instance) I'm going to need to figure out how to cover them up.
