Today, I got married. The officiant of the ceremony referred to me as Amanda through my ceremony. My name is Anna. FML

And why didnt your husband speak up in your defense

At least the first letter was the same. Mine kept calling me Becky and my name is Cheryl...totally different ballpark. That sucks.

Why didn't you correct him the first time? Learn to speak up for yourself.

When I got married, the pastor left off the last syllable of my name. In the end it doesn't matter because your husband knows who you are!

My name is Demetria. He called me Demete. Lovely! But we had a good laugh about it later.

Gosh, that sucks! When I got married our officiant went over the ceremony with us beforehand, made sure our names were correct and even asked if we had a nickname we prefered to be called by instead. Which was great because my wife doesn't go by her full name and neither do I. It's a shame your officiant wasn't more through.

Congrats Amanda I wish you a lifetime of happiness as you begin your journey with a new husband and new name Also, YDI for not correcting him the first time he said Amanda instead of Anna and choosing to wicker about it on FML instead

I'm sure you felt like you didn't want to correct him because maybe it he was already messing it up so didn't want to ruin it more I say that our of experience because that's what happened my mine however this is something that you're going to remember for the rest of your life because it was your you should of just whispered your real name to him.

Not the pastor at the church you attend regularly, eh? So much for that tradition of getting married at the bride's church.

Officiant doesn't always mean pastor. And who said they got married in a church or that they are Christian? Unless you think everyone in the world is Christian, in which case we have bigger issues.

That sucks but I hope you have a wonderful marriage

You sort of deserve it for not correcting the person through the entire ceremony.
