OP may have been nervous, I know I was when I took mine. I didn't get pulled over but things could have gone wrong.

This happened to me too when I was getting my learner's license. The only reason he pulled me over was to ask questions and whatnot. I don't know if that's the same reason you were pulled over but hopefully it ended alright!

My wife got pulled over for suspected drunk driving while she had her learner's permit. The police officer that pulled her over, saw how nervous and young she was and just started laughing.
