Or she may have just misunderstood...? Doesn't necessarily make her vain. If he said something/acted in a way that other guys have when they were hitting on her, it's kind of an understandable mistake to make. Depends entirely on the context and how he acted towards her. Like, was it in a nightclub/bar or just in class or whatever?

I would have corrected her and said sorry but I wasn't even asking you out and then I would added a zinger because she was audacious enough to assume I was asking her out. Zinger as in you're not even my type.
