Today, I got written up for coming in to work stoned. I wasn't stoned, I'm just goofy. FML

h00tzForOsi tells us more.

Was not expecting this to get posted haha. I see comments saying to tone down the goofiness, trust me I've tried all my life. It's not that simple. For the comments assuming I was obnoxious, that's just not the case. I smile and laugh a lot for what appears to be no reason. But this is usually caused by what I'm thinking of or awkwardness. For the people telling me to take a drug test, um yea about that lol... I'd fail that test harder than people supporting Hillary Clinton solely for her gender. For the people saying I wasn't professional, I work on a machine all day and the only professional part of my job is keeping a quick pace. As for being written up I sorted that out. I have only worked here for 3 months and the supervisor I dealt with hasn't been here for a few months so she isn't familiar with how I am. I spoke to one of the other supervisors who spoke to her and it's all good. For the record I wasn't stoned. Oh and #5 hell yea I am:) nice to see someone who looks on the bright side.

take a drug test and show them the result. If you were stoned it would be still in your system. Save your job!

You were wrongfully written up for supposedly being high, then go on to say you'd fail a drug test... ??

If they're anything like my work, they're never wrong.

People used to ask me if I was high all the time (it stopped now.) But I think it was because I would always be out of it, like staring into space during class and stuff haha. For your situation, though, I suggest that you try to be more serious when you're in a work setting or at least around your boss.

Ask them to prove it. If they can't, then take one yourself to prove it, and if it comes down to it, take it court.

You can probably prove you weren't stoned, but still sounds like your goofiness isn't professional at your work place. Maybe act more appropriate at work from now on.

drug test is in order to prove your innocence!

I understand for the most part. And I'm sorry all of it is like that. As least you have a good sense of humor. Head up!

That's good. By goofiness, at first I thought you meant "the office" level goofing off and obnoxiousness, but it sounds more like at first the supervisor just had a stick up her ass. Good to hear it worked out.

Drugs can stay in your system long after you are no longer high. So it could show up on a drug test even if he didn't go to work high.

#36 you must not understand how drug tests work

Doesn't a drug test usually involve urinating in a cup so they can look for a trace of drugs? Because if you managed to fail that... Then I have no sympathy for you

It's possible to marijuana to be detected in a drug test up to a month after it's used.

#44 I believe if an employee shows up to work and does their job properly, it shouldn't matter what they do outside of work. Especially if it's just smoking some weed

Because he may have had drugs in the past few days but wasn't under the influence of them at work. Drugs stay in your system for much longer than just the physical 'high' symptoms.

Did you really have to bring Hillary Clinton into it? Way to make me regret clicking to read the follow-up for the first time ever.

Do you take painkillers or prescription stimulants? That might explain the part about failing the test.

#57 I'm sure she could prove she has a prescription, that sort of thing must happen a lot

I'm the same exact way, I'm always laughing even at "random" moments, but some people find it odd or find it hilarious because my laugh is crazy.
