Today, I had a theatre performance. I had to put on a lot of makeup for the role, and one of the guys said I looked nice. I smiled and said thanks. Seconds later, I'd been sucker-punched by his girlfriend for "flirting" with her man. FML

It shouldn't be called "hitting on" or "flirting with" just because you tell a girl she is pretty or beautiful, all girls are beautiful. Can't say I personally see EVERY girl that way but most and I know for the ones I don't see that way there is someone else somewhere that does. I love my fiance and she will always be the MOST pretty and beautiful, but I don't think that giving a compliment to another girl should be taken so seriously (in a bad way).

In the U.K. that is classed as Common Assault. Press charges to ensure that she does does not do it again to someone else and end up doing a lot worse than she did to you.
