Today, I was invited to my boyfriend's house for dinner for the first time. His mom made a fantastic dinner, so I showed my appreciation by eating the lot. Apparently I was overdoing it because when I looked up everyone was staring. His dad muttered, "Slow the hell down." FML

Today, I was introducing my boyfriend to my parents for the first time. I meant to say, "Mom, Dad, this is Tom." Instead, I said, "Mom, Dad, this is Mom." My boyfriend is now jokingly reconsidering our relationship, and my parents won't stop making fun of me. FML

I can see how embarrassed you might have felt OP, but I can also see that maybe she was joking trying to make light of the situation. Although she could have also meant it in a very mean and confronting way.

Some parents have lost all grasp of appropriate conversation. She would not walk up to a stranger on the street and ask as such, but she asked you who she had just met. Disgraceful.
