Today, I had to pay my bus fare in very small change. After carefully counting out coins under the withering glares of a bus-load of people, I quickly slid them into the machine, and somehow ended up jamming it. FML

Day passes here in Austin are $2. Public transportation ftw!

You have a right to pay any way you want. Just flick off the glares and go at your own pace. Maybe people don't always want to pay in bills and want to get rid of their change!! Jeesh people need to be more patient as well :/

Op lives in Essex, you can only get a bus pass if you're elderly or disabled.

$2.75 for 90 minutes. $10.50 for a day $95 a month here in Canada :( I hate transit!!!!

Well, if my bus is more than a minute or two late, I miss my train home and have to wait and hour for the next one, so I feel the other passengers anger :p

$110 in my city, and that only covers two of three city zones. You want all three, you have to pay about $140.

Giving you an, "I agree your life sucks" just for the username :D

Your the reason people wanna kill one another

Why didn't you have the exact amount ready before you got on the bus? :/ That's what I do anyways.

At my old school I had to take the bus there and back everyday, usually paying in nickels and dimes. Needless to say I jammed that thing many a time. I'm sorry you had to experience it too OP! Don't worry though, it sounds like quite a common occurrence
