FYL OP. I cant even do a mile in under 12 minutes. Yes I'm overweight but even after being on a treadmill or elliptical 5 days a week for 3 months, I still couldn't get under 12 minutes. I can't run more than 4 minutes straight before I have to walk because my lungs hurt so bad. Also, I have collapsing arches and tendons that grew wrong that cause stress fractures in my heals. Some people are just not meant to run. My top speed is only about 4.5 mph. Luckily we weren't required to run a certain time in my high school. Not to mention my fiancé who is a bodybuilder who can only do a 9 minute mile and he's 6'6 so super long legs and in really good shape. Some people just aren't runners so lay off guys.
YDI. not cause you're obese or anything like those other people are saying, but cause your time over 10 min. those were the rules, and they should be followed. running it again will only make you a better runner anyway. now, for all those people saying OP is obese, that's incredibly rude, and you have absolutely no proof. i am a 13 year old girl, dance 3 hours mon.-fri. and at least 5 hours on the weekends, and weigh 85 lbs. i can only run a mile in 10.5 to 11 minutes. am i obese? no. am i a very slow runner? yes.
if I was to run just one mile, I could do it in just under 5 mins, with music on, something like "Kickstart my heart" if I have to run a 10k then my average mile is like 9:30
you have no reason to complain. a 10 min mile is horrible. you should put the controller down and do something...
when I was I. jr high (and way out of shape) I could run over 1.1 miles in 10 mins. at my best, I was almost hitting the 5 minute mile (just barely over a year after only being able to run 1.1 in 10). Practice makes perfect. so just keep running and you'll notice a difference in your speed and edurance quickly
RUN AGAIN U LAZY FAT BASTARD FYL
sorry, but ydi if you can't run a mile in 10 minutes...need to run it again to work on your fitness. it'll be good for you.
if u cant make it in that amount of time then u r just outta shape
10 hours 2 minutes? wow
Why is everyone bashing him for getting a 'slow' time. The whole point of the FML is that he was 2 seconds over and would still have to rerun the mile. For all those saying 'ohh you're slow' 'if you can't run that you must be obese'... have you never heard of people not being sporty? I'm average weight and bordered on underweight at high school and I struggled to complete the 500 metres let alone a mile. The three-mile cross country took me a minimum of 40 minutes. Now, 5 years later, I can dance for 4 hours with aerobics warm-ups between classes and yet I struggle to run to the end of the road. Everyone's different. Oh, and it takes an average person 20 minutes to walk a mile at a brisk pace. I know because for an award we had to work out the timings for 20 mile route and then walk it carrying massive rucksacks with tents etc in.

it took you 10 min to run a mile? that's a long time
At least you weren't 10 minutes and 1 millisecond.
