I voted ydi. It is silly to teach things that she can quickly learn by doing an experiment.
Well, salt and sour make sweet when done properly. like putting salt on grapefruit, so she was close at least.

Actually, in some Chinese cuisine, a small amount of sugar IS the way to fix slightly too salty dish. Of course they won't really "cancel" each other. But this do work as a fix within the limit.
