Today, I had to try to explain to my stepsister that it's inappropriate to ask to borrow my mother's wheelchair to dress up 'like a cripple' on Halloween. When I told her my mother would need the chair on Halloween anyway, she suggested we just carry her around for the night. FML

You're very lucky thinks is just a step sister. At least there's no blood relation to be afraid of common traits.

That's a horrible costume idea to begin with!

What a rude you know what! I don't know if you have Goodwill stores there, but thrift store type of stores have a ton of like crutches and things like that if she really wants to go that route.

Wow, what an insensitive twit. Not only for wanting to dress up "like a cripple" but to use the wheelchair of someone who is actually disabled. That said, I think it's pretty cool when people (wheelchair users or amputees) work their disability into their costume (like Josh Sundquist, a man who lost his left leg as a teen).

If she wants a wheelchair, give her a reason to need one. ;)
