This is why I always boil water and leave it to cool before storing it in bottles in the fridge. It sounds weird, but I'm terrified of germs. Boiling water can kill off lots of germs and sterilise :)

It's like the Elisa Lam thing but less weird. She was found in a hotel water tank and nobody knew how she got in there. She was there for like a week and the water was black for a few seconds when you first turned it on. People complained it tasted "bad" and "the water was dirty, such as it's taste". *paraphrasing
