aw that sucks. medicine does help... but idk man dont risk it. just give him up to a loving home and someone that wants a cat.
Don't ever get a pet, asshole. They're not objects that you just get rid of if you decide they're too much work. If you get a cat, you make a commitment to take care of it, and moving is incredibly stressful for cats so it is NEVER something you should do lightly. However, if OP tries other options, like taking allergy medication, and nothing works, then it would be understandable to re-home the cat for the sake of OP's health.
It'll be okay, OP! Just give your body some time to adjust. I'm really allergic to cats and dogs, but mine don't bother me, while other's do. Your body will eventually get used to the new allergen and the kitty will stop affecting you. Until then, I'd recommend antihistamines like Benadryl! (^_^)b
u might get used to it after few days, if not, you should not have a cat for your own health's sake :( although i envy you, because my cat wont sleep on my lap at all!
I was allergic to cats for years then one day I discovered if you don't feed them wet food and feed them a quality dry food product (as you're suppose to) then their fur not only looks healthier and that they produce less allergen in their spit (which is constantly rubbed into their fur)!! A combination of that and a non-drowsy antihistamine should see you through. We still treat with Tuna and other pure fish treats :-)
The good news is that eventually, your body will get used to your cat (after several months probably and other cats will still trigger reactions)
You could talk to an allergist as suggested or you could do what I did and build up an immunity. If you're around it long enough you can build an immunity and kick the allergy's ass!
why do terrible things happen to innocent people???
I know the feeling, I've got two cats and when I found out I was allergic the doctor advised us to get rid of them but we decided not to and now it doesn't even bother me as much anymore. After a while you'll get used to it and maybe even get over the allergies, I hope the same happens to you OP!
Depending on your allergies, you may become used to it over time. My cousin was raised with a cat, but after it died she found out she's allergic to cats.

Benedryl ! You may be able to do something. Talk to an allergist before doing anything drastic.
That could be death by cuteness
