Today, to celebrate moving into a new apartment, my girlfriend decided she would get a kitten. She didn't know I'm allergic to cats. When I told her, she decided that she couldn't date someone who couldn't be around her cat; the one she doesn't have yet. FML

Today, after 25 years living with my dad, who is highly allergic to cats, I was finally able to adopt two kittens to live in my new place, just like I have always wanted. Guess who else is highly allergic to cats? Me, it seems. FML

I'm allergic to cats, but recently learned the loratadine (the generic version of Claritin) completely gets rid of it for me. Get the generic version at Target or Walmart for very cheap.

My boyfriend (who lives with me) is quite allergic to cats. We foster cats. Every time we get a new one in, he is so sick. We feed them a high-quality, grain-free food. By the end of week 3, he has no symptoms. Feed the kitty a better, grain-free food! Cats are carnivores. When they eat better food, they produce less dander, shed less, and their saliva is not as allergy-inducing.

that's bull crap, using hipster food won't change the hair or dander of a cat. you boyfriend is becoming accustomed to the cats. I used to be very allergic to cats but my wife got a cat shortly after we met and over time I got less and less allergic to him. he now sleeps many nights on my shoulder.
