The studio I used to take pole classes at was women-only for years, until they got someone who was able to teach a class according to men's bodies. Typically, men already have the strength for a lot of pole tricks, but they often end up injuring themselves, because they don't take the time to learn proper technique before attempting tricks. Women usually have to learn technique first, then build up the strength. You may actually be a better technical pole dancer, but he's just naturally stronger, making him appear better. Then again, maybe he's just naturally good overall.
