Today, I was giving my son a driving lesson. He blatantly ran a red light, so I told him to pull over to let me drive us home. As I walked over to the driver-side door, he instead locked me out and drove off by himself. FML

That's incredibly dangerous to do..if you want to drive get a permit, if you're too young for one then you really shouldn't be driving. I can't believe a parent would actually think it's ok to let their kid do that. Your dad needs to think about your safety more than he actually is.

Do what my dad did, take the kid to a parking lot with no cars in it, and even with speed bumps, they can learn the feel of the vehicle, control, parking, how to line up the wheels on a speed bump (if any). Make them do circles over and over and over. Than make the kid go to distances near by, and than longer and longer distances as they get better. Worked for my huge family, it should work for your kid.
