A lot of people said to complain to the teacher or principal. Curiously, I don't think that anyone has suggested to go to the teacher and ask if you can rewrite part of it to earn back some of the points.

why is everyone jumping the gun? i know in my school we have strict assessment objectives, and if your essay becomes waffly you lose marks. they have to be clear, concise and well structured. maybe you just need to check out what you actually have to do better next time.
