Today, I'm a barista at Starbucks. When my crush walked in and asked how much his coffee would cost, I said a date. He said he'd rather pay for the coffee. FML

Chin up OP! I heard he listens to Nickelback while doing cross fit... You're better off without him ?

The coffee is probably cheaper . Next write your number on the cup like in the movies

I mean...20$ for movie tickets, 30$+ for dinner. The coffee was definitely the cheaper option

So I was on the moderation part of FML and just voted yes for an FML that said the exact opposite of this story lol

Meanwhile - I got fired from McDonald's for something like this.... they considered it solicitation... so kinda good he rejected your offer and you didn't give him free coffee.

Honestly I think you were inappropriate. If it were a guy barista doing that to a girl it would be considered creepy. Lucky you didn't get written up or fired.

Not necessarily. That's how two of my best friends went on their first date :) They've been married for like 8 years now.

Try not sexually harassing him next time :)

I can see it being annoying but sexual harassment? Really? You could only say that if OP was asking him every day.

OP didn't grab his butt, they asked him out. How did you get from "Date maybe?" to lewd and unsolicited comments/gestures/touches?

Asking someone out is an unwelcome sexual advance, and is hence sexual harassment when it occurs in the workplace. There's a time and a place to test someone's interest, the workplace (yours or theirs) is not it.

Well, you can't succeed unless you try. Better luck next time OP

OP doesn't need to be a girl (so don't say woman empowerment) and if she was, it's not really empowering, women can ask a guy out its 2016. Also, the guy did not handle the situation right, maybe he got caught of guard or just isn't interested, both ways I'm sorry the rejection was brutal, just stay confident.

Except for the marker near OP's name. The whole "woman" marker suggests that OP is a girl

He handled it correctly. She was unprofessional. A job isn't a night club.
