not really an FML. I doubt they were too terribly offended. my fiancé, whom I have been with for 3 years, and I met on Facebook, and people say that kind of thing to us all the time. it's really not that offensive.
I am just curious what you were doing in the bar...if it was looking for a date, I personally consider meeting someone in a bar MUCH more sad than dating online. I guess I am a little bias because I date online. I view the bar scene as a bunch of drunken idiots...not my type.
I met my boyfriend online. So far, hes soo much better then all the guyz i have dated
I think using and paying a dating company is pathetic. Here you are paying someone to set you up to meet someone who may or not have lied. People meet all the time in differnt places so how can you say meeting online is pathetic?
I met my boyfriend through a random Facebook add...I don't think it's sad and pathetic. We've been together for three years and couldn't be happier! It's the generation of technology. This is how people meet these days! :)
online dating has been very popular for a long time. YDI for being judgmental. I would've never met my husband if it wasn't for online dating. he was stationed five states away from me and his family is 5 hours north of me... There was no chance for our paths to cross not online. I can't imagine life without him.
I met my boyfriend of over a year on the internet. And you know what? He treats me better than any boyfriend I've ever had.
You have to watch what you say.

One out of eight marriages last year were people who met online. I met my boyfriend online and we've been together for over three years and are now engaged. What's your way of meeting people? Going to bars? I think that's a little more sad and pathetic.
In your defense, I used to think the same thing. Then I went on a date with a guy I met online who seemed like he had some potential. He was by far the biggest douche bag I've ever met in my entire life. I think it fails more often than it works out, but it still works for some.
