Today, I met my brother's girlfriend. We got talking, and we got onto the subject of tattoos. I said how much I hated tramp stamps, and how they make girls look trashy. She said, "Like this?" and showed me hers. FML

It's not like you knew she had one and you were saying that to hurt her feelings. Unless you were, in which case you're a dick

You have nothing to apologize for. They only serve as a **** target, as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe your comment will make he reevaluate her past decision...

It's sad that so many tattooed individuals make other tattooed individuals look or seem trashy due to the way they behave. Don't be so quick to judge, OP.

That is trashy! Unless it's the one that reads INSERT PENS HERE -- that's just hilarious. If she made it a point to show you her tramp stamp instead just saying she had one, she might be considering you as a back-up or replacement for your brother.

Why would someone insert a pen into someone else's backside?

#26, it's a famous misspelled tattoo. The person wanted PENIS, butt ended up with the amusing misspelling. On the other hand, some people do like having things shoved into their asses. I don't know why.

I don't see how the location of a tattoo can be trashy or not. Mine was put there at my husbands request and we both love it, nothing trashy about it.Stob being so judgmental

Locations can be very trashy. Neck and face tattoos are pretty trashy.

#34 do you really feel the need to point out that your hubby loves your tramp stamp on EVERY comment that says they're trashy? you have a conflicting opinion, we get it, but you've made your point

43, have you seen Marina Diamandis' tattoo on her face? I think it's really pretty. Location doesn't determine whether a tattoo is trashy or not.

I honestly think it comes down to the tattoo itself to be based trashy or classy. For example: I saw a picture (don't know if it was or wasn't real) of a girl with a lower back tattoo that was a butterfly from the distance but upon closer inspection it was actually two ladies licking a dick with sperm shooting out of the head. That's trashy imo. I saw another girl with a lower back tattoo that had a half moon with stars surrounding the moon being "painted" on by a tiny angel. I thought that looked pretty neat and not trashy at all. Both tattoos had the same location but different appearance that spoke out to me if the chosen art was classy or trashy.

No, #24, it's *not* fair to judge someone a certain way just because they have a tattoo there.

I think the point has been made that sometimes generalizations are true, sometimes their not. it's really not worth arguing about. really.

me and my mum have matching tattoos in the tramp stamp place, niether of us knew until after what connotations came with the place, we just figured they would be hidden on our backs but the meaning is there :/

Don't worry I hate them too! And I've said the same thing to people with them

OP YDI for being so judgmental! SOME can be trashy, some are not, who are you to pick and state with fact? My husband surprised me with a tattoo for our 14 year anniversary, we got male & female versions of the same thing, he picked my lower back and I love it. Its beautiful and just for us. There is very little in this world that can be said is 100% this or that so maybe this will teach you to be more open minded.

I don't have any tattoos or piercings myself. But I find they can be alluring at times. A tattoo can be more than just art. They have a personal meaning to most people who get them. I get that.

Ok so next time I want to state my opinion, I'll check with you I make sure you agree. Seriously, grow up. OP was stating his opinion. If he thinks tramp stamps are trashy, that's fine. It's like me saying I like rock music, but you think its terrible. Not everyone has to agree with you.

OP isn't being judgmental. It was just an opinion. OP couldn't of possibly have known since they had just met.

right. nothing is 100% so if you know you're not apart of that stereotype why do you care. as someone else said, you love pointing out that your husband loves your tramp stamp.

This is why you never voice strong opinions with people you do not know well.
