Today, I once again told my son he needed a job and a girlfriend because I simply could not keep him in my house anymore. He yelled, "No, I can do whatever I want!" Then went back to playing video games. He's 38. FML

Did you ever think about addressing this problem a little earlier?

YDI for letting it get that far. Just throw his stuff out and change the locks. The guy is 38 for ****'s sake.

Shouldn't he be out there taking care of three kids with a huge ass house and getting some boob after his game editor job? FTL.

I would give him $100 for food and water, then kick him out of your house. Because that is totally inappropriate for a man of that age!

Yyou shoulda kicked that nigga out yearssss ago man

He can do whatever he wants? Well, I would tell him "You can do whatever you want, but starting at Monday you can not do it in my house." That is, I think, the only solution. Why should he search for a gf, when Mom does everything needed and he can just play games...?

The solution is to figure out whats wrong. What OP described is not a normal 38 year old. He obviously has some issues, and putting out people with mental health issues out on the street is not a solution, it just causes more problems. Maybe he has depression or agoraphobia or something and he doesn't know it? Doesn't matter what the problem is, its important to be compassionate and to help those who can't help themselves. Even if you don't care about those who need extra help, I doubt you would enjoy more people with issues roaming about the area you live in because they are more likely to mess up your house or car, or to get in your way when you're going about living your life.

He... is the kind of guy who fails humanity, but one day he will find out that he is important, not just a lazy, creepy thirty eight year old troll and nobody.

People.......... I have a feeling he wants to game all day and any time away from that is a waste

Guys like that just make gamers look bad. I may have a shelf with 300 video games but I also am 21 with my own house. Yet basement gamer is all the picture when i talk anout it

The guy obviously has some issues. Just because he also plays videogames doesn't mean he's making everyone who plays videogames look bad. The guy obviously needs help and his mom didn't realise anything was wrong for way too long. It took years for my parents to figure out I had depression. Its pretty clear this guy has some similar issue. People shouldn't see him as someone who makes others look bad, we should see him and realize how many people live half their lives without getting any help because no one is informed on any mental health issues.
