Today, I opened a cupboard and a brick fell on my head. The same brick my mum put up there to "keep it out of the way". FML

Why exactly would you store your bricks indoors?

Any of my comments can answer your question. I just really don't feel like typing it out so you are going to have to do some searching around.

That's an.... Interesting..... Place for a brick to be:) maybe its doubling up as a weapon?? Just a thought:)

wow people ....There are plenty of reasons to keep a brick in the kitchen ( yes I know the OP didn't say kitchen but I'm taking a guess). They are often used to press chicken while roasting and also used to weight down pans when making pressed sandwiches etc. If the OP's mother wanted to keep the brick clean and safe a cabinet it a reasonable place...though perhaps a lower shelf would have been better.

why do you have a brick in the first place? seems like your head might not be the only one who got a whack off it ...

your mum's an idiot... that's all I can say

unless the brick was leaning against the cabinet door i cant see how this would happen. bricks tend to stay right where you leave them, that's why i started using them instead of babies for building

but if you ever wanted to make an eatable House you would have to use babies
