Today, I participated in a walk for charity. Even though I was supposed to walk 5K, I stopped after 3K because the pain from my thighs rubbing together nearly sent me to tears. FML

Google "Bandelettes. " They are a life saver for possessors of thunder thighs like you and me! Good for men and women! Legalize Thunder Thighs!

3k is still a good amount of money... I'm proud of you, op.

One foot in front of the other. There are other 5ks. Keep trying until you finish it :)

Damn it! I just sang that in my head. Stupid abc christmas specials!

I can relate to this on so many levels

Im 20, weight 110 pounds, and have never once felt the issues you dealt with, but i do know that i cant walk 3km. At all. And the fact that you only quit because of chafing which (as the previous comments state) is a fixable thing, and not because going on was too hard because of tiredness means that once that one fixable issue is resolved you can try again and make it!

Was it in Joan's beach or caumsett state park?

It's all good!! You'll get there, baby steps

Been there before. You still did a great job, OP!

Deodorant works to prevent chub rub! I use it all the time.

That's 3K longer than most people did. Good on you for trying! If you're up for trying again, try using baby powder on the friction areas beforehand. It helps alleviate the rubbing.

This happened to my friend who runs marathons and she is tiny and her legs barely touch. If it is as bad as I imagine, I thought I would share my post rub solution. Diaper cream. The thick white kind. Chub rub can stay with you for days... Vitamin d cream will create a barrier to help heal and manage friction. I Put a super thick layer on, followed by gauze sheets (for air flow) held on by tape, then cotton pants. Good job OP! That is a long way to tough out a very uncomfortable experience.
