Today, I posted a pic of my prom dress on facebook. The dress looked amazing on me and it just felt so right. So I spent every single dollar I had and some borrowed to buy the dress. When I logged on later that night, the first comment asked "Is this a joke?" FML
I agree, your life sucks 28 590
You deserved it 5 125

Same thing different taste

What did he mean by 'Is this a joke?' If he was referring to you wearing a super skanky dress that cost $3850, then yeah its a joke. But if it was just any other prom dress, delete that dumb person.

Exactly. Unless you're marrying a prince or you're the next Ellen Page, where else are you going to wear that long, ridiculously low cut, sequined dress? Undead prom queen for Halloween and next year's proms aren't great answers. I guess that also explains what I'll be doing if ever get married. I might pull a Britney Spears though.

Showing off your dress on facebook is probably your biggest faux pas. Were you fishing for compliments? And maybe you should shop within your budget. It's only one night, and if you spent all your money how will you pay for shoes, handbag, nails, makeup, hair, jewelry, the actual prom tickets, limo hire, etc? FYL, not because someone dared make a comment not showering you in compliments, but because you have no sense when it comes to money

Oh honey, don't even worry about what other people think. As long as it's a dress that you love and feel beautiful in, that is all that matters. Don't let other people's opinions ruin your special night.

Don't worry about them. The important thing is that you're happy. A lot of the times too stuff looks completely different in a picture than in real life. The picture of my prom dress is ugly but in real life the dress is really pretty.

so? those other people are just jelous, and because those people can't afford one.

Maybe you had the same dress? God don't overeact on a first comment...

I like to believe that girls dress to impress other girls since most guys could care less how elegant the dress their date wears to prom is. Just like guys try to impress other guys with their muscles and how much they can life and the penis waving going on in the shower room! Good times... >.>'

As a smart woman once said: Girls do not dress for boys. They dress for themselves, and of course, each other. If girls dressed for boys, they’d just walk around naked at all times.

YDI for thinking spending shit loads fo money on a dress you'll only wear once is important.

you don't know me at all and u don't know what i look like so i would keep those cheap, shitty comments to yourself.

#83: Just try to weed through the nasty comments and find the good ones. As long as you love the dress, wear it proudly and have an amazing time! It's all about how YOU feel in the dress. Btw, did the commenter ever specify why they said what they did?
