Today, I realized that even though I was an honor student throughout school, and considered the golden child who was going to go far in life, all I've accomplished a year after graduation is becoming an unemployed single mother still living with my parents. FML

So you're a 19-year old who was irresponsible enough to get knocked up, and you're complaining? Did you think someone would hand you success on a silver platter? Sorry princess, life doesn't work that way. You want to be successful? Work for it.

You were an honor student and couldn't read the instructions on a condom? or birth control pills?

It's only been a year and the economy is tight.

Big deal. I was a high school drop out who "wasn't doing anything with their life" & I'm in my 3rd year of college, ahead of my peers! Being an honor student doesn't mean a thing. Want to he successful? Work for it! You just proved people wrong & not in a good way. Ydi.

You know, life happens. Sometimes in our weak moments we make decisions we don't realize at the time could potentially stop us on our trail to success. That doesn't make you a bad person, and it doesn't make you an idiot as some would purport. It makes you a human who is not capable of being perfect, and you aren't the first one, either. You were an honor student, but you're a mother now. You definitely should discuss with your parents the possibility of attending a trade school for the sake of gaining a valuable job skill so that you can expand your career options and be able to adequately provide for your child. You most definitely are eligible for educational expenses via FAFSA, Pell Grant, etc., so do not hesitate to conduct some research on a school that's right for you and aligns with what you'd like to do for a living. Don't lose hope and don't view this as an FML, you have a child, that's a true blessing. Stay strong. :)

So, how is it going after five years?
