Today, I had to stop going to university with 2 years left because my parents feel it's not the right course for me. I am 23 years-old, living with my parents, $2 to my name and no job. FML

Don't quit if you can get away with it. Talk to the university about a leave of absence for a semester or two, and then work to get your feet under you, find a job, and finish your education, your parents be damned.

Unless they're just assholes, maybe your grades weren't good enough to warrant them paying so much for you to go?

You're a legal adult. They can't force you to quit school if you don't want to. But yes, you're in a bad situation because you live under their roof and have no finances. :(

if they pay for it, they could pull funding. kick OP out etc. some parent take the "you live under my roof" thing to far. instead of helping prepare their kids for life they treat it like owning them. I would recommend getting some money and staying in school. maybe a leave as others said to get a bit put away before hand.
