Today, I received an e-mail from the Unemployment Department saying they had a job referral for me. After excitedly reading the description, I realised it was the job I'd just been fired from (at a much higher pay). If I don't go through the application process, I will be denied my unemployment. That sucks. Can you tell someone at the unemployment office and just explain the situation for them? Otherwise, just go to the job interview. So what. They won't hire you anyway since you were fired and you jump through a hoop or two and then you can have all the free money you want.

look at it this way- you're gonna get tour unemployment :D

So go through the application process. You either get the job or you get your unemployment. Or DON'T go through the application process... it's up to you, but it's not an FML.

to 5 unemployment is not welfare so it has nothing to do tax payers it's a fund you and your employer contribute to..

Apply and hope you get an interview. That will give you the opportunity to tell them what greedy idiots they are for laying you off (since that't the only way the OP would qualify for unemployment) and then trying to hire someone else to do the same job for less money. The new slogan of corporate American - **** the people!

Being laid off isn't the only way to qualify for unemployment. You can qualify for it anytime you are unemployed through no fault of your own. When I was receiving unemployment, it was because I was fired for exceeding my attendance points when I got in a car accident that caused me to miss a week of work. I had a doctor's release from work and the accident was in no way related to work. http://phoenix.about.com/od/govtoff/a/unemploy.htm

If you can prove it's the same job they can't force you to go through it.

Are you that surprised that the offer for the replacement is higher? It's called an incentive. Yeesh. Anyway, have you even explained your situation? I highly doubt they'd still be asking you to fill out an application if you did. Even so, they have every right to tell you what requirements you need to meet. There's no acceptable reason why they should pay you to do jack squat. The least that you can do is fulfill your obligations.

just say you are your own twin sister, "Claryssa" lmao
