that isn't wise to "hand raise" ducks anyway. Conrad Lorenz did a study on animal imprinting...with geese i believe. he raised some goslings, which in return imprinted on him. imprinting- when a baby animal recognizes its mother figure. and they never left him alone, he had to teach them how to do everything, and even then a lot of them didn't survive. there are just some things that you need to let mother nature handle. raising birds for instance... those ducklings most likely wouldn't have survived anyway. even if they weren't eaten by dogs...

If your going to "hand raise" any animal (or bird) like that, releasing them into the wild is a bad idea, as this displayed... why not keep them as out door pets instead?

umm... why in the world would you raise your ducks with your german shepherd if you were going to release them back into the wild. you HAVE to know how dogs chase ducks at the pond. it's not the dogs' fault; it's their instinct. it's your fault for being such a dumbass.

Today, my owner released me into the wild where I was promptly eaten by a dog. FML. On the plus side though, being a ghost is awesome, so at least my afterlife rocks.
