You have to do better than that. One time, my mom and I were going out to dinner and she had just gotten a promotion and I said I would treat. She said no, she was going to treat. Well, we're on the way to dinner and she stupidly gave me her purse to hang onto and I wanted to treat her to dinner. So I stole her wallet. (Don't worry - I gave it back to her after the check was taken away/right away after she noticed it was gone.)
I do that with my mom sometimes! I think it's a nice thing to do every now and then! Hopefully you cleared things up with her OP
Dude, should've just let her pay and leave it at that.
No good deed goes unpunished Edit; someone already said it whoops
Wow. That's a lose-lose situation, if she doesn't believe you, then you'll be that child who "steals" from her. But if she does believe you, then she'll be mad that you try to pay her back.
Well at least she got the money in the end
Although I see where you were trying to do good, don't touch a ladies purse without permission. If she wouldn't let you pay, just agree to pay the next time. Sorry, YDI

Hopefully you explained the situation and she understood, otherwise that would suck
I'm the same way OP. Now that I'm older, I pay for things that my mom would have usually paid for. Kind of like a "thank you" for being a great mom. Hopefully once you explain she'll understand.
