Today, I spilled hot coffee all over this man at work. I tried apologizing and saying it was an accident, but he then complained, which resulted in me being unemployed. The man I spilled coffee on was my uncle. FML

I might just be in a bitchy mood today, but I have little sympathy for OP. Spilling hot coffee on anyone, regardless of your relation to them, puts the company you work for at high risk of being sued by that unfortunate person. The business probably fired her to save itself, thus the other employees, from losing everything. Accidents do happen, but some people these days would rather sue you for everything you've got instead of letting you make a mistake every now and then :(
