Not trying to downplay the story but ever factor they just didn't hear it? Or knew it was going to happen but wasn't gonna be the one to question exactly what made the chair arm breAK?
It says in the post that "[her] co-workers heard" but didn't investigate "because [she] didn't scream." That implies that either she asked why no one investigated and they told her they didn't because she didn't scream m, even though they heard the crack, or that they asked her what the cracking noise was, and when she told them what it was and asked by they didn't come check they said it was because she didn't scream. So... At least SOME of her coworkers knew something had happened that involved her, admitted to knowing such, and also admitted to not caring.
Wrong FML. Please delete.
Personally if I heard a loud crack, I would just think something fell. Sure maybe still a cause for alarm in a workplace where things are not normally falling, but I don't think I would go check on it unless it was in my work area, or I could visually see it.
Let's hope no one ever has a heart attack in there.
"She isn't moving, breathing, or making any kind of sound? Perfect! How bad could it be?"
That's actually pretty fair.. Most people would probably make some sort of shocked/surprised/hurt noise that would prompt someone to come over or at least shout "ya good?" from their space (at least, that's what I would do), if there's still no noise, then you go check it out, but if you had no initial reaction I would just assume you dropped something or expected the noise to happen.
In this case, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt. If they didn't hear a scream, but did hear an almighty crack, they probably assumed someTHING broke, rather than someONE. Especially if they heard you moving about afterwards - "With that kind of sound, and her clearly being conscious, it must have been an object and not her." I can see how it would suck for you, but I'm sure it was nothing against you personally.
But did you die?
Well what the **** do you expect everyone to run over cuz they heard something break
Were you really hurt though? I don't see why you needed help.

Maybe they thought you dropped something on the ground and it broke? I'm sure they just didn't realise you were hurt-
Bystander effect at it's finest. "If it's really that bad, someone else will help." You could either be passive aggressive and never help anyone unless they directly ask, or try taking the lack of caution about trying to limit liability issues by investigating possible injuries up with HR or whatever department handles workplace safety where you work.
