If I was your boss I would be giving you a paid weekend off.
A paid weekend of for that? Wow can I come and work for you? XD
Kids can be so mean these days
I hope the mother's reluctance to discipline her boys result in further embarrassment at her expense. FYL, OP.
This might just be the sceptic in me, but I reckon your attitude and/or how you "stopped" them might have had a big part to play in to why the parent complained about you to your boss. Be wary next time. Your attitude and what you say in the heat of the moment might be normal to you, but not others
I don't think there is any approach too harsh for those little punks. I believe in being polite at all times except when it contributes to further actions of stupidity based on a false sense of entitlement. The OP was right to stop these idiots in any way possible.
People these days...
Don't feel bad OP I had a parent once complain that I 'touched' her kid because I stopped her maybe 1 year old from tumbling down the stairs while she was no where to be seen. And before anybody says anything I did grab the baby's arm but it was a knee jerk reaction to a toddler at the top of a giant flight of hard stairs and I let him go right away. I saw two men almost get into a fist fight over the same scenario, a man waiting for his wife to come out of a Macy's was leaning on the rail and a baby (this girl couldn't have been 1 and was in one of those giant awkward snowsuits so she could barely walk as it was) was about to try and go down so he just put his arm out and said something to her about waiting for her parents (like a good human being) and the dad, who happened to be at the bottom of the stairs, flipped his lid. People don't like anyone doing anything for their kids even saving them from getting hurt.
imagine if the poor guy at the top did nothing, the dad would've gone off even worse I'd imagine. It's people like this child's dad that cause no one to want to do the right thing anymore, it'll get you in just as much trouble.
Good for you OP. Don't let the bastards bring you down. Thank you for contributing to a world that doesn't put up with crap like this. I hope you scared the shit out of those little punks maybe they will finally learn something they are clearly not getting from their mom.
This could all have been avoided if the mother knew how to take care of her children.
Let me get this straight. While working retail, you curtailed two young males trying to assail via air mail over a hand rail? You made two young ***** quit before their spit directly hit? You deserve praise, her a reserved gaze.
Well you shouldn't have a huge issue with your boss about it you were doing the right thing
