Today, I told my parents that all I wanted for my 18th birthday was to go to a restaurant in NYC for a nice dinner. My parents said no, because it would cost too much money. I came home to see my parents had bought a huge TV for $800. We already have 3 televisions. FML

That's bull shit. Throw lasagna at them.

I'm gonna say FYL because I live in NJ and while it's hard to get to NY just for dinner, for a birthday that's a reasonable gift, so to say that's too expensive and then buy a brand new tv, that's just rude.

If you ever go to NYC to eat, got to The Blue Fin in Times square behind the red steps. The salmon there IS TO DIE FOR. It's expensive, but not $800 expensive. Fyl sorry :/ maybe next time :)

Generally, idiots, it's nice to receive a little something from your parents on your birthday, no matter your age. There are parents taking their 35 year old children out for birthday dinners. This doesn't make OP selfish, it makes her parents look selfish and materialistic.

Thas why kijiji was invented. Know you can sell the multiple TV's you own.

You have rich parents if you have 4 TVs. FYL
