Could be worse, at least you're not a landscaper! Just be careful OP, if you don't get tested you won't know what you're allergic to; it might not be the leaves themselves, it might be some sort of mold or fungus on the leaves that you picked.

Just see which leaves you collected and get spot tested for them.
Standard allergy testing includes to a bunch of different kinds of trees, right? If you haven't had that done before, perhaps you can now -- and perhaps allergy shots might improve things for you. In the meantime, I suppose at least you have a doctor's note to get out of the biology project....
