oldest trick in the book, but his timing is flawless. you'll laugh at that. eventually.
Tell you'll keep it in mind for when he's using a walker.
Lol. Sounds like something my dad would do. I'm assuming you got yourself back on your feet, right? If you hadn't, he would have eventually come back to help you up once he saw you really were having difficulty standing. But, as it is...he saw the joke, took it, and ran with it (or walked with it, as the case may be). This is really...not an FML. It's a "you better thank what ever you believe in that you have a father who actually has a sense of humor".
actually it is a FML because OP hurt hurself and if that happened to you I don't think that you will be thinking all about how you dad has a sense of humor or whatever so yea it is an FML
Oh, I'd be laughing along with my dad as I pushed myself to my feet. I've actually done it more than once...last time, I skidded down the driveway on my ass because I slipped on a bit of ice..went about fifty feet. Unless the fall is serious enough to break a bone, I don't consider it anything to boo-hoo over. Just laugh, get up, and go on with life.
I would have been laughing, too! My dad is definitely the type to do that, lol. If not my dad, one of my siblings would have. Hell, my mom made my sister walk around on a broken ankle for half of a day and she laughed along with us after we realized it was broken, lol. Also, when I got my concussion and she told me I was being a drama queen (she should have known better, I have the highest pain tolerance in my family), she made me snowboard down the mountain. I took myself to first aid and she didnt even realize where I was until I had been sent to the hospital by ambulance. when I woke up, she was playing gameboy, lol. I just laughed and thanked her for her compassion!

Did you grasp your knee and go "Sshhhh--Ahhhhh... Shhhhhh--Ahhhhhhhh" for a while?
Wrong FML, buddy.
