Today, I've actually developed a crush on a guy I never intended to crush on, and also can't have. For one he's married and utterly devoted to his wife. And even if that weren't true, he's so far out of my league I need binoculars to see him. And to top it all of? He's fictional. FML

Don't worry, OP. I'm (somewhat) in the same boat as you are. I adore a character from a game so much and he adores his wife as well (that doesn't stop me from writing fan fictio. About him and another male character :3)

Oh, believe me, I've been through this very same thing with JAMMF. It started about 5 or 6 years ago and while I've accepted the fact that I will never actually meet JAMMF, it doesn't mean I can't dream. Just keep reading the books!
