Today, I walked into what I thought would be a surprise birthday party. It wasn't. It was my parents staging an intervention over my cat obsession. FML

"Surprise! We got rid of your cats!" You were the cat-alyst of your own downfall.

You know you have a problem when you spend your car payments worth of money on cat supplies in one trip at PetSmart.

I used to work at PetSmart. It was alarming how often this actually happened.

It is. Pets can be be very expensive, especially when you have more than one. Cat food, litter, flea drops, toys... It all adds up. I say I spend about $100 a month on my three cats.

I spend about ten dollars a month on my cat, and he's perfectly happy and healthy, but flea drops are free at my vet cat foods about 18 dollars for a two month supply, and toys are no more than a dollar or two.

I gotta spend about $50 a month just on flea drops for my cats, and two of them go outdoors and I live in a humid climate where fleas thrive, so flea drops aren't optional. Plus three cats go through food fairly quickly, so that's another $2o. I also have to have three litter boxes and so I go through about two 40 lb boxes a month at about $12 each. So that comes to approximately $80 a month. Then when you divide the yearly cost of vet visits for three cats over twelve months I'd estimate that all the expenses add up to about $100 a month. I sure wish my vet would give me free flea drops! It would save me $600 a year!

Yeah my cat lives outside mostly but I leave a window cracked for him to get in and out. So he does his business outside. And every 6 months the vet where I live gives away bottles of advantage. So I lie and tell him I have a Great Dane so he gives me a bigger bottle so it lasts till the next free bottle. But I've never had to take my cat to the vet in any of his three years. hopefully I won't have to anytime soon. I never wanted a cat, but got one for my daughter and now he's my cat. I was totally surprised at how independent they are.

If you let your cat outside, you really should get him his shots! They can get all kinds of deadly diseases from ferrel cats, including feline AIDS! After three years, I'd be surprised if your cat didn't have some sort of disease. I'm also surprised your cat hasn't gotten very sick from the large dog flea drops you give him. Not only is the formula different for dogs and cats, but the dosage for an animal that size would be too much for a cat.

If you make them think you have an unhealthy obsession with cats, you even say you have it, not that they just THINK you do, you probably deserve that one.

Don't be such a pussy. Oh wait, the whole problem started with that...

The problem started with OP being a pussy?

perdix 29

What a catastrophe!!!! OP, if this comment prompted you to think about how you can buy trophies for your cats, you have a problem.

NO DON'T KILL MUFASA YOU SCARS!!! Simba will rise against you!

Maybe I should watch Lion King again, I don't remember 2 Scars!

It's a Lion King reference! Jeez did nobody have their golden Disney years? And to 40, No, there aren't two Scars but for the FML and OPs cat obsession, I just created a second Scar.

44- both your comments made no sense. First of all, your "golden years" are when you're old, not when you're young. Second of all...what?

Ultimate_No 7

Most of us have seen The Lion King. That's how we know your reference isn't very good, and not relevant at all.

I knew you were referencing "The Lion King." What I don't know is why you think it's relevant to the FML, except perhaps that they both involve cats, and who exactly you are calling "Scars," and why you think they are metaphorically killing Mufasa, who or what Mufasa represents, who Simba represents, and how the metaphorical Simba will rise up against the metaphorical Scar.

Your over thinking it the guy just commented what ever "weird" random thought entered his head. It was a stupid comment though.

You've never really seen lion king until you've seen it on 'nip! Both me and my cat were astonished by the number of scars in that movie... Characters and emotional scars that is.

44- My apologies. It seems my Sarcasmese accent was too thin. Let me try again: Your comments both made a lot of sense! I can see that we have to leave all the pop-culture references to a talented comedian like you! :D

Is it bad I can understand that...? Then again, I am mentally insane...

Awkward moments gotta love then

Meow I think it's time to think pawsitively the problem. At least you have lots of pussy.

Cats can be a problem, mmkay. Because when you have to many cats you have a problem, mmkay.

Too*. Curse my inadequate grammar checking.

If you feel like sayin **** you then say mmkay. mmmkay.

I don't blame you. Cats are awesome!

Not THAT awesome. Or even awesome, for that matter.

There is NO such thing as too many cats haha ! :p (Secretly I'm a crazy cat lady aswell)

I'm obsessed with cats, but I don't ever plan* on having 50 or 60 of them. *Notice how I said plan. I could quite possibly end up having 50 or 60 of them later on. But right now it is not planned.
