Today, I wanted to prove to my dad that I can drive, so that he'd let me use his car in future. Let's just say I helped him remove the fence that he was planning to repair. FML

OP here. Just to clarify it was a small fence(with decorative purposes), that you put next to flowers. Since the car is an SUV, I didn't see it. I didn't know it was there, because my dad took it from it's original place and put it on the grass.

#39, I have driven a large SUV. And a big full-sized van. And if you can't see behind you, you HAVE to look before you get into it. That's just part of driving. If you don't check? You'll hit a fence...or a dog...or a kid. NEVER back up if you can't see what you are backing into, ever ever ever ever. EVER. Take the extra five seconds before getting into it so that you can look. If you get into it and realize you can't see behind you? You put it in park, get out, and take a quick look. The OP learned a lesson about responsible driving and all he hit was a small fence...he should count his blessings. I'm just glad it was a fence and not someone's dog napping in the yard.

Look on the bright side, at least you got rid of the fence. However, the cost of a new car might be a bit much.

Well now he doesn't have to repair it anymore haha

Love it when ppl say 'let's just say...'.

Well that's one way to get the fence done

That's partly why I can't see how some people need a big car like an SUV at times. Sure it's handy when living at the country side or a place where it snows a lot, but in my country people get it for status and I think it's a waste of money when they live in the city and the roads are cleared every winter.

I just had a feeling you were from the same country as me with that statement xD - I feel the exact same way :) And it looks really stupid on our small roads :D

Some people can't fit into modern, affordable cars.

Sarahmus: Well, we do, but I'm from up top (Nordjylland).

I have been driving since I Was 7 and never have crashed once. sometimes I ebrake once and awhile. I just find it impossible how people crash.

Funny how we always mess up when we can least afford to, huh? Sorry, OP, good luck!
