That so sucks!! But that was so sweet of you.. And her. I'm sure you know now that It's always good to check with mutual friends or the other person's family when planning to surprise them.. Especially when you've got to fly to see them. But seriously, this was adorable to me and shows you really care about her & vice-versa. Even though you guys didn't get to hang, effort can mean just as much as the time actually spent together.
