Today, I was at the nursing home I work at, and my boss asked me if I'm serious about my job, telling me that I've been acting strange and not working hard enough. She wants to drug test me. The real reason I'm not 100% is because I have a stomach ulcer from the stress of working there. FML

FYL for having a stomach ulcer and being stressed. YDI for making your life even more complicated by not explaining to your boss.

sometimes you shouldn't have to explain evertything, because your boss shouldn't be an asshole

Being concerned with a noticeable drop in performance is not being an asshole. Assuming drugs are involved may show questionable judgment. But, we're not talking about explaining how you wipe your ass, in detail. This is about work related productivity, fool.

why didnt you just tell your boss.... stop caring that much about this job, its not worth it.

Well working around digusting old ppl would have dat effect. Ydi for goin to school jus to be able to work around old farts

Excuse me, but I'm in the healthcare field and work exclusively with the elderly & they are not disgusting old people. And yes, working in a nursing home can cause a lot of stress;residents dying, all of the immature shit that female workers do out of jealousy, long hours, etc.

Get a different job. Nothing is worth that kind of stress.

assuming that one of your employees is on drugs because of a little drop in productivity is being an asshole. there are multiple reasons why your productivity rate can drop, but you pick an outlandish one? really. & hey, your the fool. fool.

Stomach ulcers are caused by pyloric bacteria, not by stress. Sorry.

Stress causes the protective lining of the stomach to diminish, allowing the bacteria to enter and cause the ulcer. Sorry.

In most hospitals and nursing homes, narcotics are pretty easy for staff to get ahold of, so assuming drug use isn't that far-fetched. Unusual behavior in a health care setting generally signals drug use for this very reason.
