Today, I was babysitting. Being kind, I went to grab their mail, while their 4 year old ate lunch. He locked me out, wrecked the house, and let me in right when he saw their car two hours later. I didn't get paid. I paid them. FML

Today, I babysat the neighbors’ evil kids. They dropped them over at my house and I played with them for five hours. After taking the brats back home and putting them to bed, their mother asked me what time I came back to the house. She only paid me for the 20 minutes I was in their house. FML

Today, I babysat the most annoying and obnoxious kids for almost eight hours, when the parents assured me that they would only be gone about three or so hours. After constant calling and worrying, they finally showed up at 11:30, completely drunk. The mother paid me with three dollars and a banana. FML

Today, I babysat the Antichrist of all kids. After the 5 long hours were over, his parents came home. Instead of paying me what they agreed, they offered to let me eat some leftovers of a takeout in the fridge. I'm so afraid of confrontation that I accepted. FML

Today, I volunteered to babysit my nephew. He somehow managed to lock himself in the bathroom and then flood it with the sink. I had to call his parents, and they're now on their way home from their romantic anniversary dinner. I'm not even getting paid for this. FML

the one thing I've learned in my years as a nanny, never do ANYTHING that they don't ask you to, with the exception of rinsing dishes and putting them in the dishwasher once the kid is asleep, because more often than not, it's not appreciated and bad things like this can/will happen. And don't ever leave a 4 year old that you don't know very well alone in the house, even if it's just for 30 seconds.

Yes she is in college. If you read her profile (although by now I don't know if she's changed it, it could say something else) you'll see snickerdoodles says she's in college. So, she's 16 and in college. Both statements are true.
