You people are ******* retarded. He didn't shove it down the kids throat, he just suggested he try it. And if the parents didn't mention an allergy, then they probably didn't know. And if the parents didn't know how the **** is OP supposed to? And for you crying abuse, obviously you don't have kids, and gave never been around them. Get your collective heads out of your asses
Regardless, you shouldn't give unhealthy food to a kid who has never had it and doesn't want it.
The point wasn't that the food was very unhealthy. The point was that the food just wasn't healthy. It's not like brocolli that kids really should eat and will resist . And when did I imply they knew what's best for themselves?
Chocolate isn't really that bad. In large amounts, yes, but it can be good for most people. Dark Chocolate for example can be considered healthy.
It's actually physically impossible to have an allergic reaction the first time you try a food. Your body has to develop the antibodies.
Hmm, I did. And I'm 100% positive I had never tried the thing before the time that I had an allergic reaction. Maybe it had something to do with before I was born, if my mom ate them while pregnant?
Bullshit. You can't be allergic until you've had it once. There is always a possibility that he had it once, forgot, and was fine and this time he developed the allergy so the OP might not have been at fault here.
Everyone who said YDI is a ******* idiot. How the **** would they have known if the kid was allergic or not?! EXACTLY, there was NO WAY of knowing unless someone told them, which I'm assuming didn't happen. DUH. **** some people are so dumb.
So maybe they have different reasons for saying YDI? That would be as irrelevant to my reasons as saying "that kid might've been black"
End of story? What kind of arguement is that? He deserved it for feeding a kid that isn't his an unhealthy food that they've never had before and don't want
A little bit of chocolate isn't that bad. If the parents didn't want their kids to have junk food, they'd tell the sitter. I have a cousin who won't let her kids have anything that other than organic foods but she makes sure she lets everyone know so they won't feed it to them.
I highly doubt he shoved it down the kid's throat. Get over yourself, its ******* CHOCOLATE. Unless the boss actually specified that his kid was allergic to it, there is no reason why the babysitter couldn't offer it. The kid wouldn't have eaten it if he really didn't want to. And its end of story because I don't see WHY someone would be arguing with this. Maybe its because you're a *******.
I sense that your promotion will be delayed...
Kid: What are you eating? Babysitter: Chocolate... Kid: Hmm...I've never had any of that. Babysitter: Really? That's odd. You want to try it? Kid: Nahhh...I don't think so. Babysitter: It's really good. It's okay to try new things, you know? Kid: Okay...I guess. Point being... 1. There was no force in here people!!! 2. Kids have a natural aversion to things they've never tried. 3. He doesn't deserve it. He probably didn't even know about the allergy.
The OP said that they said "you should try new things and /should eat it/" Meaning, they intended to make the kid eat it Not that they're going to shove it down their throat, no, but you see what I mean... Normally, when an adult tells a child that they should do something, they'll either rebel or concede simply because they feel the adult is forcing them to do it. Take a trip down memory lane....
"I told him he should always try new things and should eat it." - straight from the FML.
Didn't see that coming, did you?

I call bullshit. Your boss didn't tell you his kid was allergic to chocolate?
