One of the rules of FML is to not claim an FML is fake. Besides, what evidence you have? There ARE parents that are just that stingy with their money that they won't even buy a pillow.

Like most FMLs, I assume this is an exaggeration.... The person who asked what they would like probably had that response in a joking manor as it's an unusual, yet practical gift and had a sarcastic response to represent that.
